Tapping into the numerous resources such as training and development blogs prove beneficial to professional trainers.

This month’s blog watch reviews three blogs that focus on education and training. Corporate trainers, human resource managers, independent trainers and consultants or anyone in the business of training can benefit from participating in the following blogospheres.

Learning Circuits Blog

The best blog of the three reviewed this month is the Learning Circuit blog at http://learningcircuits.blogspot.com.

Monthly, this blog asks ‘the big question’ to start visitors blogging. For October, the big question was “I’m interested in elearning. What should I do first?” The big question in September was about making ‘To-Learn Lists’.

The blog is laid out so that it is easy to read and follow and there are clearly written instructions for posting comments. Questions posed are pertinent to training and development to today’s training environments and the postings come from professionals in the field making the information real-world.

reMember

This blog is hosted by the ASTD (American Society for Training and Development) organization and was developed for the organization’s members. The information and the postings are interesting because they are about stories and memories of professional trainers and consultants about their accomplishments, challenges, and insights for the future of training and development.

The blog has three categories of postings, Networking, Remember and Resources. Visit the blog at www1.astd.org/remember_blog.

T & D Blog

Tdblog is the third blog reviewed this month and is hosted by Training and Development magazine. A few of the recent postings include ‘Customers in Class’, ‘What to ask?’, ‘Going Green While Getting Green’. Professional trainers can find relevant research and insightful views from the training world as well as a variety of workplace environments.

A posting from September discusses corporate responsibility and whether workplace learning and performance professionals play a role in corporate responsibility and if so, how.

Training and Development Resources

At times, professional trainers can feel isolated and as if they are fighting challenges that only they have encountered. When in reality, there is a wealth of networking opportunities and channels out there for all types of trainers.

Workplace training and development is continually evolving to meet the needs of adult learners from all professions. The last several years have seen more changes than the previous few years with the proliferation of blended learning, elearning and online social medias. The best trainers in the business always tap into all of the resources available to them. Testing these blogs and participating in the three blogs reviewed provides access to professionals all over the country.
