Keeping Your Workforce Happy Is Vital, Faakhir Rizvi
Your workforce is one of the most important assets your business has. Developing them into a tight and happy team is a must for your business to succeed.

Your employees are the lifeblood of your business and keeping them happy is one of the most important things you can do for your business. To help you keep them happy here are some tips that you can use around your workplace on a daily basis.

Be Accessible

The first thing you can do to help your business build a tight workforce is to make sure that you are personally accessible to them. Even if you need to spend most of your day working in an office or out on the road you need to take time for them each and every day. Whatever your business is you need to take the time to go around and talk to your employees. A minute or two of chit chat can go a long way towards showing your employees that you are there for them.

Articulate Your Vision

Next you need to articulate your vision to your employees. Bring them into the fold. If they know the things that you are trying to achieve then coming to work each day becomes more than just a job for them. It becomes a challenge. Make your vision a company wide mission. Not just something that exists in your own mind. Then as the company progresses towards its goals everyone in the company can experience success. Accomplishments are important to people whether they be individual ones or groups ones. So include your employees in your vision.

Communication Is Key

Encourage communication in your organization. Not only should your employees be able to talk to you but they need to talk to each other. People want to know their voice is being heard. That management is open to listening to their ideas. Encouraging your employees and managers to hold group discussions, they can be a good way to get people to speak up. Let them know that rocking the boat is ok. Change within an organization can be for the better but if no one speaks up then a business will stagnate. How are you going to be able to fix things if no one will tell you what is wrong?

Show that You Value Your Employees

Make sure your employees know that you value their contributions to the organization. Let them know where they stand. People want careers not just jobs. Your employees want a future. Of course not everyone is going to be right for your business. But whether they are right for your business or not they do want to know where they stand. Your employees might consider your being forthright with them a new experience. And they will probably appreciate you more for being straight with them.
